Bought spare wheels from a friend won’t fit GR86?

I just picked up a set of 5x100 wheels from a friend who had them on his old Prius. I thought they'd look great on my GR86, but when I took them to the shop, they said they don't fit right. Has anyone else dealt with this? Any tips or tricks to make them work? I'd really appreciate any help

The offset on Prius wheels is way off for a GR86, even if the bolt pattern matches. You might be able to use spacers, but honestly, it's probably more hassle than it's worth.

yeah, the shop is right, and this is a really common problem. The bolt pattern is the same (5x100), but the center bore is different.
The GR86 has a center bore of 56.1mm, while the Prius is smaller. This means the wheel won't sit flush on the hub, and you can't properly torque it down. It's a major safety issue, as the lugs will be taking all the weight instead of the hub itself. You absolutely should not try to run them
