How’s the comfort and handling with the RCE SS1 vs SS2 setups

I'm curious about how the comfort and handling compare between the RCE SS1 and SS2 setups.

I drive my car every day and hit the mountain roads about once a month. I'm leaning more towards the SS2s, but I'm worried they could be a bit too stiff for regular driving.

Do you think the SS1s would be a better choice?

I got some SS2 coilovers from a guy who said they were too stiff for everyday driving. I've been using them daily, and coming from an old, worn-out BMW, I think they handle great on the track and feel fine on regular streets. On bumpy roads, it can feel like my trunk might just fly off, not sure if that's typical for a new car, but I'm really enjoying them so far

If you're already leaning SS2, just go for it, they're firm, yeah, but not punishing unless your roads are garbage. You want real handling on the twisties? SS2 gives it. SS1s are fine, more comfortable, but feel a little soft when you're pushing it. Daily comfort vs performance, pick your priority.

Which one did you end up with? Anyway, just to throw in my two cents.. I would choose the RCE SS1s since you use your car for daily driving and monthly mountain runs. I know a few who claim that the SS1s are very comfortable for daily driving. One guy even claimed he noticed a significant improvement over other coilover brands in terms of ride quality on normal roads. They still offer a good boost in handling for spirited driving without being overly harsh. As for the SS2s, they are more track-focused with stiffer valving and spring rates. While they're still considered road-worthy, they are definitely a step up in firmness. If your priority is overall comfort for daily use, the SS1s will give you a more compliant ride! You'll still get a great improvement in handling for your mountain road excursions, but with less compromise on a day-to-day basis.

bcs you drive daily and only hit mountain roads once a month, I think the SS1s would likely be the better choice. They'll give you a huge improvement in handling for those fun drives without punishing you every single day. The SS2s might offer a marginal gain on the mountain roads that isn't worth the consistent stiffness during your daily grind
