my nephew just turned 18 and his parents got him a sweet white 2023 Toyota GR86 Premium for his bday.
The car needs winter wheels and tires ASAP since it's already November and gettin' cold.
He wants the gold Sparco Terras wheel with Michelin X-Ice tires, but I told him that Bridgestone Blizzak line is a better choice
What do you think guys, which winter tires do you prefer?
he also wants to program the TPMS on his own, anyone has a simple tutorial for this?

Lucky guy! well for the tires, both are good choices actually. Blizzak's great for ice, X-Ice for overall and longer wear. he can't go wrong! For the TPMS, he'll likely need a special tool so the tire shop can probably program it easily when they mount them.

The Bridgestone Blizzaks is good for winter performance, especially in icy conditions, yeah there are plenty of tutorials online for teh TPMS, but it's easier with a TPMS tool for programming.

depends on the area. if he's driving in areas that see real snow and ice, I'd lean with you towards the Blizzak WS series for maximum grip when it really matters. If it's mostly cold, wet, and occasional light snow, the X-Ice is fantastic

what a good uncle. Putting proper winter tires on an RWD sports car is the best thing you can do for safety. for the TPMS programming, the GR86 does not have a DIY, on the fly TPMS programming method. You'll need to either visit a tire shop with a TPMS relearn tool or a dealer. The vehicle needs to learn the new sensors' IDs, and it's a process that requires a specialized tool
