Okay so this is freaking me out. When I push the acceleration to around 7200 RPM, I get a faint burning smell. it doesn't seem like the clutch just to get it out there.
just curious if it's normal or something I should check out?

I have never experienced this but this doesn't sound normal and could be a sign of something you should check out.

even if you don't think it's the clutch, it's worth getting it looked at by a mechanic to be safe!

I think it could be an issue with the exhaust, oil, or a potential electrical issue, it is better to check it out soon

I had a similar issue with my friend's '22 GR86. When he hit about 7,000 RPM, there was a slight burning smell that turned out to be a small oil leak from the valve cover gasket hitting the exhaust during hard acceleration. It was hardly noticeable at lower RPMs. Fortunately, the dealer took care of it under warranty. It's definitely a good idea to check around the exhaust and valve cover for any leaks or loose bolts before it turns into a bigger problem

Late to the thread! That smell when you're really pushing it could be something getting too hot near the engine, like wires, seals, or fluids. I'd check it out to be safe before it turns into something worse
